DALLAS – Today in Aviation, the prototype of the Short 360 (SD3-60) 36-seater airliner took to the skies for the first time in 1981, a year after its manufacturer, Short Brothers, announced its production.
The model follows the Short 330, developed in 1974, with an additional six-seat capacity and a short-range regional with a maximum fuel range of 1,055 km. While the aircraft is mostly used for cargo services; it is also used for military operations by the US Army and was previously used by the Venezuelan Air Force.
