Leisure Demand Boosts IAG Q3 Profits

DALLAS – International Airlines Group (IAG) has announced a third-quarter operating profit of €1.2 billion (US$1.19 billion). This compared to an operating loss of €452 million (US$449 million) for the same period last year.

IAG, which is made up of Aer Lingus (EI), British Airways (BA), Iberia (IB), Level (IB) and Vueling (VY), said that BA was the group’s most profitable carrier. The British flag carrier provided an operating profit of €411 million (US$408 million). VY came in second, making €259 million (US$257 million), followed by IB, who posted €246 million (US$244 million). EI meanwhile made €139 million (US$138 million).
