Carnival and Royal Caribbean paid their median employee less than $20,000 in 2018

• The median employee for each of the three largest cruise companies — Carnival Corporation, Royal Caribbean Cruises, and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings — made $10,000 less than the median American worker in 2018.
• Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian reported median incomes of $16,622, $19,396, and $20,101, respectively.
• The median annual income in the United States was $31,561 in 2017 (the latest year for which data is available), according to the Social Security Administration.
