Chicago’s airport security chief has been fired following the United passenger debacle (UAL)

The head of security at Chicago’s O’Hare International and Midway International Airports has been fired.

On Friday, the Chicago Department of Aviation confirmed that airport security chief Jeffrey Redding has been relieved of his duties effective Thursday, April 27.

The City of Chicago declined to comment on the cause of Redding’s termination.

However, the firing comes just weeks after three of the department’s security officers violently removed Dr. David Dao from United Airlines Flight 3411.

Disturbing cellphone footage of the incident led to an immediate public backlash and the suspension of the officers involved.
