Emirates enlists Thor to hammer home expo message

Australian actor Chris Hemsworth is the face of a new global campaign to promote the United Arab Emirates’ Expo 2020 Dubai as the October 1 opening approaches.

Hemsworth features in a  Disneyesque ad filmed prior to COVID in 2019 and directed by two-time Oscar-winning director Robert Stromberg, whose film credits include Avatar, Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, and Disney’s Maleficent.

The impressive computer-generated imagery, or CGI, was put together by multi-Oscar award-winning visual effects and production company MPC (Moving Picture Company).

It features a “fantasy world of future possibilities”  that include a Mars Mission and morphing buildings.
