TransAir, Senegal Boeing 737 bursts in to flames

A Boeing 737-300 carrying 85 people burst into flames and veered off the runway at Blaise Diagne International Airport, the main airport in Senegal near Dakar. The country’s transport minister said that 11 people, including the pilot, were injured in the crash.

Passengers on the flight, operated by Air Sénégal’s TransAir and bound for Bamako, Mali, described a scene of chaos as they evacuated the burning aircraft late Wednesday night. The plane carried 79 passengers, two pilots, and four cabin crew when it skidded off the runway, leaving a trail of confusion and fear. The airport is located about 50 kilometers read more ⇒
