Citilink was established as Garuda Indonesia’s Strategic Business Unit (SBU) in 2001. The first flight between Jakarta and Surabaya was on July 16th of the same year with a Fokker F28.
After significant changes in Garuda Indonesia’s business in 2011, Citilink’s development and expansion has been the main focus of the Garuda Group with a vision for the airline to become the leading low-cost carrier in the region by providing scheduled, low-cost and safety-focused air transport services.
By 2012 the airline was operating a more modern fleet of A320s and rebranded itself as low cost carrier under the Garuda Indonesia group. read more ⇒
